Our Provider & Founder

At 1st Choice Adult Care Home, exceptional care begins with exceptional leadership — and that comes from our founder and provider, Fatoumata Trawally, RN.

About Mata

Fatoumata 'Mata' Trawally, RN, is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of experience in healthcare, including geriatric nursing, intensive care, medical-surgical care, and chronic illness management.

Originally from West Africa and raised in the Seattle area, Fatoumata combines clinical excellence with cultural empathy, bringing a rare and powerful balance of skill and compassion to her work.

Her journey began with a deep belief that every senior deserves care that honors their dignity and individuality. After years in hospital settings — including Stanford University Medical Center and the University of Washington — she founded 1st Choice Adult Care Home to offer a more personal, nurse-led model of care.

Her Philosophy

For Fatoumata, caregiving is more than a profession — it’s a calling.
She believes quality senior living should combine clinical oversight, cultural respect, and a home-like atmospherewhere residents feel seen, valued, and safe.

Under her leadership, each 1st Choice home provides:

  • RN-Led Care Plans – rooted in experience and medical insight.

  • Warm, Family-Centered Environments – where residents are treated like loved ones.

  • Cultural Sensitivity & Diversity Awareness – every background is respected and celebrated.

  • Open Family Communication – families stay informed and connected.
